During the Guangzhou International Lighting Fair 2007, held June 8-11, world-class lighting brands, such as GE, Osram, and Cooper were present, as well as leading Chinese suppliers including Neo-Neon, NVC Industrial Development, and JOM Lighting Appliance, jointly highlighted two major themes of the lighting market in 2007: LED (light emitting diode) and commercial lighting.
The Guangzhou lighting fair focused on the Mh lamp series and transverse plug-in lamp series, both new product lines in commercial lighting, which have been extensively adopted in hotels, restaurants, and chain stores. Commercial-lighting firms continue to develop products that emphasize lightweight, energy conservation, and environment-friendliness, as well as accentuating branding in marketing.
To effectively tap into market trends, commercial-lighting firms have been paying attention to rapid product replacement, brand building, globalization, and acquiring core light-source technologies. Small and medium brands will continue to dominate the Chinese commercial-lighting market in the foreseeable future.
